# Mentions

### Using Mentions

To mention someone, simply type @ and continue to type their name, or type @ and select Mention from the options that appear. You can mention multiple people in the same board element.

Creating a mention will notify your team mate in the Notifications menu and share a link directly to the object you mentioned them on.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Note - if you mention someone in a [private](/boards/hide-and-show-sticky-notes.md) sticky, they will **not** be notified.
{% endhint %}
